Internal Materials and Services ($3,084) Service Impacts Personnel ($139,179) ($145,350) In the FY25-26 Budget year, the proposal to shift the budget for the ADA Carpenter position, to the ADA Transition Plan Major Maintenance (MM) funding will have some immediate effects: Revenue Recommended Total
- Increase in charges to the ADA program to pay for Staff costs.
- Decrease in available funding for addressing the physical remediation of ADA barriers. This General Fund Discretionary ($145,350) change will reduce the Division’s ability to address physical barriers identified in the ADA Transition Plan, as the budget for remediation and capital work will be diverted to cover the ADA Carpenter ($145,350) position. This will slow progress in resolving accessibility issues, potentially delaying improvements that could provide greater public access to facilities for individuals with disabilities. Equity Impacts Delayed Completion of the ADA Transition Plan. The proposal results in a decrease in Equity by reducing the financial capacity to address existing barriers to access for Portland’s vulnerable communities.
