23,685 - CA-PDXSolutions-Public Environmental Management Office 8% Cut Service Area City Administrator DCA Michael Jordan Bureau Name City Administrator Director Michael Jordan Funding Type Name Reduction Status: Not Recommended Package Desc Expense Recommended Total This request cuts $208,245 from the Public Environmental Management Office's (PEMO) General External Materials and Services $0 Fund ongoing resources. To meet the reduction PEMO will reduce spending for services provided by $0 Parks, the Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), and Planning & Sustainability (BPS). While this reduces expenses for the city, the problems faced by some elements of Parks, PBOT, and BPS Revenue Recommended Total would not be addressed. General Fund Discretionary $0 Service Impacts $0 Impact: This cut would reduce PEMO’s impact to quickly achieve results for Parks, PBOT, and BPS Assumptions: This assessment is based on past work of PEMO Measuring outcomes: PEMO tracks their activities in different measurements that roll up into an overall “happiness” matrix Alternatives: The alternative is the individual bureaus will need to pay for this work, or the work may not be done. Equity Impacts Some of the projects funded by PEMO apply to areas of the City open to all, such as Parks. The cuts impacting those projects would impact individuals who disproportionately use those free spaces, such as individuals with lower socio-economic status. That said, the funding for these projects is small enough that the impact would not be drastic. Metrics include calls for assistance from PBOT, BPS, and Parks.
